#ENDSARS; How to Tackle SARS and Save Yourself From any Harassment

 SARS is a branch of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the highest investigative department of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). It was created to combat violent crimes like armed robbery and kidnapping, yet is responsible for widespread torture, extortion and abuse of the citizens it is meant to protect.

 Recently, Nigerian social media has been swamped by tales of indiscriminate arrests, extortion and murder by SARS officers. Using the hash tag #ENDSARS, Nigerians have called for the government and police to take appropriate steps to investigate and address the brutality. 

Meanwhile, a twitter user known as (Irresistible @Packidoo) has shared her own opinion on how to tackle the issues of SARS by citizens of Nigeria. 

She said; My father is a SARS officer. Not all SARS are the same. The few bad ones make the entire system look corrupt.

Dress well and have nothing implicating and you shouldn’t be scared of SARS, it’s simple. Men needs to do better, we can’t be protecting scammers who are ruining our reputation abroad. 

However, other people did agreed with her while some did not. 

Some people also shared their own encounter with SARS as well.

A lady known as (Radeke loves you by force) said; I’m a lady and my phone was searched along Ekiti to Ilorin. Mind you I was wearing a bubu with a scarf, no makeup. He said I look like an African queen.

Another lady, also known as (Mz_PWEINCESS MAYA) also shared her own experience as well; My Phone was searched in Owerri and I was carrying my 9 months old baby. I dressed well, so don’t being that nonsense dress properly here.
